Coffee, Cake and an Award

On 22nd February the Heartstart Thatcham team held a coffee morning at Thatcham Town Council offices. The morning was to raise funds for Heartstart Thatcham but also the Mayor’s charities, Hedgehog Bottom and Thames Valley Air Ambulance. The room was packed with visitors enjoying a coffee and slice of cake with many trying their hand at tombola and the younger ones colouring. Other items were also made available that members of the public had so kindly donated including many knitted items.

During the morning the Mayor, Councillor Jan Cover, presented two of the Heartstart Thatcham team, Mick and Margaret, with Town Partnership Awards for their work with Heartstart Thatcham. Mick also volunteers for other local organisations helping in one organisation to train future police officers whilst Margaret has been fundraising for a number of years for charities including WaterAid and the British Heart Foundation.

Heartstart Thatcham is made from volunteers and it is thanks to the efforts of people like Mick and Margaret that keep it going.
